TOCC Invites you to join us in our 21st Annual Kula ‘Anela (Golden Angel) Iron Race around Angel Island Saturday, August 29th, 2015 in Sausalito, CA! Yes, we've brought this race back to the Indian summer months. To warm sun-rays, amazing waters & lots of aloha! Paddle around Angel Island, through the ever challenging waters of the San Francisco Bay, past historic Alcatraz Island, and have a blast post-race next to the Golden Gate Bridge.
Races for everyone!
Our Keiki open the day with a 4-mile race through Horseshoe Cove to the Bay by the Golden Gate Bridge. Next up, a 5-mile course to scenic Sausalito for all Novices and 7-mile race for Open Short Course crews. Then, all Open Women, Co-Ed & Men crews paddle 10.5-miles across San Francisco Bay, around Angel Island and head back to the finish line towards the Golden Gate Bridge! Winds, tides & currents with views to boot!
When racing is over, there's tasty Plate Lunch, groovin' Music and DANCING for all!
Race Day Details
7:15 a.m. Registration Opens, plus Race & Logo Merchandise and Lunch Tickets for purchase (bring your $$$)
8:00 a.m. Pule
8:15 a.m. Mandatory Coaches’ Meeting
Races (approximate times):
8:30 a.m. Keiki, Novice Race & Short Course
10:00 a.m. Women’s & Co-Ed Race (Lunch & Keiki Awards to follow)
11:30 a.m. Men’s Race
1:00 p.m. Awards (Lunch continues for the Men)
Race Fees: $20 per paddler per race or $120 per crew, $5 per keiki or $30 per keiki crew.
